Wordplay lost in translation again, to ask in Korean is mut-da, and to bite is mul-da. Closest equivalent in English would probably be if Yoojung asked to pick his brain about something and actually went to pull at his hair.

The pacing is definitely slow compared to more recent novels since this came out in 2012, considered one of the earlier pioneering works in the genre during the inital webnovel boom. For reference reincarnator and solo-leveling were published in 2015/2016, and those are considered old in today’s webnovel culture. Also Genesis breaks down the chapters by word count I presume, so this is actually chapter 47 of the novel, but it’s listed as chapter 55 here. So that might add to the feeling that it feels dragged out.

Pretty sure ‘penny wise, pound foolish’ isn’t the best idiom to use here since that implies he’s doing something rash and stupid. More apt idiom would probably be ‘nothing ventured, nothing gained’ or ‘fortune favours the bold’ to describe him not pinching pennies and knowing when to go all in

Ngl I like Queen of Shadows > Queen of Silhouettes

For an unedited, heavily censored, and often times awkwardly nuanced series, $100 is too much to ask. Not to mention for websites like these once the site is down you lose access to it forever. I much rather find other resources online that can help satiate my longing for this novel ever since SCOG finished serializing in 2021. I recommend other readers to check out the fan wiki resources, you might have some luck there.
