imagine telling a priest—who's whole reason for existing is salvation from god—that god has abandoned him and he cannot attain the salvation he so wished for, if you asked me, that's a pretty accurate way of describing the mc of this novel, he didn't even attend kindergarten, has no parents or relatives, and doesn't have anything that you could call a reason for existing, not even a phone or computer he could use if he's bored, his whole existence can be sum up to one word, miserable, before he even awakened, or atleast before he died, he was already thinking of suicide, which should tell you how fucked up his psyche is already, he's fucked up and i think that's what this novel is about, to give someone–who is so desperately searching for an end–who is existing without a reason to exist, a reason to continue—a goal(other than suicide) to strive to—people, to care for, and care for her too, it's your generic op MC tower climbing buzzword buzzword, sure, but the tower here isn't the main attraction, it's not the main event, if you can overlook that and focus on mc, or focus on the people around her, or even just the people on the gallery, i think you can enjoy this novel, even a little more, as an example, you can tell han mi-reu genuinely cares about her, not the kind that cares because she's strong, it's also not because she's pretty, or popular, it's genuine concern born from seeing a person who's troubled, you can tell if you just read with your eyes open, and some of the chapters, doesn't even focus on the tower, or the gallery, take ch:51 for example, it's literally nothing special, just her trying out new clothes, but from their interaction, can you tell that she's embarrassed? yeah that's usually a given if it's a gb novels, was she complaining about it? no! even at the end of the chapter she said, and i quote "going out? maybe going out isn't bad once in a while" it's in little interactions like this that you can tell that she is growing as a person and acts more like a human being than before, if you like torture porn go ahead and read torture porn, that's not my problem you read whatever you're into, but don't read this novel, it's not for you
