oh wait are they sowing the seeds for why reina doesn't want to reveal her past? i feel like the author's wording, or atleast serpina's understanding of reina's personality and why she has such a strong will to climb the tower,(i.e that she's desperately "chasing" something, or that she had some goal she absolutely had to chase down and catch) i think could get reinterpreted as her getting chased down by something, or running away from something, and she's using the tower as a mean of coping/escape from that something
